This week, we have our final “Inside Government with Guy Cosentino” program, produced by Cayuga Community College’s Telecom/Media Department for the Spring 2026 Semester, as well as “The Auburn Enlarged School District Candidates Forum”, co-sponsored by The Citizen.
On Tuesday, May 5th, the guests on the first “Inside Government with Guy Cosentino” will be Auburn School Superintendent Dr. Misty Slavic and District Business Manager Tessa Crawford on the proposed $112 million budget for 2026-2027 that will be put before voters on May 19th, which has a 2.43% tax levy increase. The show airs at 7:00 PM on Spectrum 12 on Tuesday, and repeats on Thursday, the 7th, at 8:00 PM and on Spectrum’s 12 & 98 and FIOS Verizon Channel 31 on Saturday, May 9th, and Sunday, May 10th at 5:00 PM from the Auburn Regional Media Access (ARMA).
The guests on a second “Inside Government with Guy Cosentino” will be City Manager Jennifer Haines and Comptroller Mary Beth Leeson to discuss their work to close a $5 million shortfall for the City Budget for 2026-2027. The show airs at 7:30 PM on Spectrum 12 on Tuesday and repeats on Thursday, the 7th at 8:30 PM and on Spectrum’s 12 & 98 and FIOS Verizon Channel 31 on Saturday, May 9th and Sunday, May 10th at 5:30 PM from ARMA
The “Auburn Enlarged School District Candidates Forum”, co-sponsored by The Citizen and the College, will air on Thursday at 7:00 PM on Spectrum Channel 12 and then again on Tuesday, May 12th at 7 PM. Questions will be asked by The Citizen’s Government & Political Reporter, Robert Harding. Guy Cosentino will moderate. Three seats are up this year. C.J. Calarco, Dr. Eli Hernandez, and Daniel Lovell are all up for re-election and all are seeking re-election. All three incumbents will be joined by first-time candidate Bruce McBain. The forum will replay on Spectrum’s 12 & 98 and FIOS Verizon Channel 31 on Saturday, May 9th and Sunday, the 10th at 6:00 PM from ARMA
The shows are rebroadcast starting at 10 AM each Saturday morning on the College’s station, WDWN – 89.1 FM.
