Erie Canal Bicentennial Marathon

As celebrations conclude for the 200th anniversary of the Erie Canal, ARMA is going to hold a marathon of Erie Canal-related programming.

The marathon will kick off on Wednesday at 6:00p with the premiere of the Cayuga Museum’s lunchtime lecture with Dr Jeff Ludwig of the Seward House Museum on how the canal shaped the political career of William Seward.

It will be followed at 6:55p with a similar talk by Walker Gootmote, also of the Seward House.

The final program, part of the Ward O’Hara Ag Museum’s Martha Shaw Harvesting History series, begins as 7:26p and discusses a more general history of the canal for its 200th anniversary.

All programs were locally produced and air on ARMA: Spectrum Cable Channels 12 & 98 or Verizon FiOS Channel 31.
